Drum grid#

Select a drum track with a kit and pattern to open the Step Sequencer. Click or drag across cells to paint or erase steps; newly painted steps are auditioned.

Play the pattern#

Use Play/Pause at the bottom of the drum grid to hear the selected pattern with its own local playhead. Pause silences hits already queued by that preview. Stop also returns its playhead to the beginning. Drum-grid playback stays separate from arranger and piano-roll playback, so stopping this preview does not interrupt either one.

Selection and velocity#

Click a lane label to select that drum row, or Shift-click to add or toggle a row. Drag the ruler to select a time window. Option-drag on macOS or Alt-drag on Windows over an occupied step to change velocity; Shift makes the adjustment finer. The same gesture on an empty cell does nothing.

Use Command+D / Ctrl+D to duplicate selected drum notes and Q to quantize them.
